We a currently recruiting for a Estimator to join their team due to recent growth to their company. My client specialises in the protection and remediation of steel and concrete structures. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with a project, including materials, labour, and other resources required to complete the project

Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation:Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analysing plans, specifications, and other relevant documentation.
- Material Calculation: Accurately calculate material quantities, labour requirements, and associated costs.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare competitive and comprehensive bid proposals, including all relevant cost breakdowns and schedules.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to determine the most cost-effective solutions.
- Risk Analysis: Identify potential risks or cost escalations and advise the project team on strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand the project scope, timelines, and objectives.
- Cost Tracking & Reporting: Monitor ongoing project costs to ensure that they stay within budget and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits when necessary to assess existing conditions, challenges, and the scope of work.
- Maintain Estimate Records: Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and other documentation related to the estimation process.
- Review Contracts & Specifications: Identify the need for additional information or clarification through RFIs to ensure complete tender documents
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar equivalent
- Blasting, painting/coating experience is highly regarded
- First principal experience with pricing internal labour to complete work scopes
- Financial and commercial acumen
- Solid understanding of construction processes, pricing trends, materials, and labour costs
