About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to lead civil construction projects focused on asset management and upgrades of underground services. You will oversee the installation and maintenance of utilities such as power, telecommunications, and other underground services. Key responsibilities include ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, while managing resources, stakeholders, and project finances, including forecasting, budgeting, P&L management, and addressing variances. You will also handle technical queries (TQs), draft extension of time (EOT) requests, and manage project change orders.
This is an excellent opportunity for Project Managers with strong experience in managing project finances and overseeing construction projects. If you have a solid background in construction and are comfortable handling all aspects of project finance, including P&L responsibility, this could be the ideal role for you.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage civil construction projects, focusing on the installation and upgrades of underground services
- Oversee the full project financial lifecycle, including forecasting, budgeting, and managing the P&L
- Develop and oversee project budgets, schedules, and plans, ensuring financial targets are met
- Track project progress, monitor variances, and ensure that projects stay within budget
- Draft variance notices, extensions of time (EOT), and manage technical queries (TQs) as required
- Manage project documentation, including reports and communication with clients
- Monitor project progress and resource allocation, including plant and equipment, ensuring costs align with the project budget
- Identify and manage project risks to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Build and maintain strong working relationships
- Coordinate construction teams and subcontractors to ensure overall compliance with project specifications
- Facilitate regular project meetings and provide updates to stakeholders
- Perform other project-related duties as required

- Proven experience as a Project Manager in civil construction, with a strong focus on managing project finances, including budgets, forecasting, and P&L management
- Experience managing financial aspects of projects, including month-end process, tracking progress, managing variances, and preparing variance notices and EOTs
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with a focus on managing blue-collar teams on site
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively and lead a diverse team
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on financial accuracy and reporting
- Experience managing project risks, technical queries, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards
