About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our client’s growing team. In this newly created position, you will manage remediation projects valued up to $18 million, ensuring successful delivery from inception through to completion. The role offers the opportunity to oversee a variety of civil construction projects, including those in the marine sector such as wharfs and jetties, as well as concrete piling works. As the Project Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to engage both on-site and from the office, working across different settings depending on the needs of the project.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a Project Manager with extensive civil construction experience, who has been involved in full project delivery — from concept through to completion. This includes managing large-scale projects like concrete piling and marine infrastructure (such as wharfs and jetties). The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in end-to-end project lifecycle management, including pre-construction planning, budget forecasting, and managing contractors/subcontractors. You should be confident in leading teams and overseeing complex logistics on-site, while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our client’s growing team. In this newly created position, you will manage remediation projects valued up to $18 million, ensuring successful delivery from inception through to completion. The role offers the opportunity to oversee a variety of civil construction projects, including those in the marine sector such as wharfs and jetties, as well as concrete piling works. As the Project Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to engage both on-site and from the office, working across different settings depending on the needs of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of remediation and civil construction projects, ensuring compliance with HSECQ standards and client specifications.
- Oversee the coordination of direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring the efficient and safe execution of works.
- Track project progress through regular reporting, conducting weekly meetings, and liaising with clients to ensure projects stay on track, within budget, and on schedule.
- Provide technical support and problem-solving, addressing engineering challenges as required.
- Actively participate in the tendering and estimation processes.
- Develop and review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
- Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) and ensure responses are tracked and followed up.
- 6/1 roster for local projects, with other projects working on a 5/2 or 2/1 roster, depending on project location.

Key Criteria:
- Proven experience in managing construction projects within a contractor environment, specifically in marine infrastructure (e.g. wharfs, jetties) and/or piling.
- A strong technical background with a deep understanding of piling techniques and the ability to manage piling operations on large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams, subcontractors, and client relationships effectively.
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience in budget management and P&L oversight.
- A commitment to safety, with a solid understanding of safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent programming and planning skills to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
- Relevant marine qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
- Construction induction white card and a valid driver’s licence are required.
