As part of the Metering Technical Services functional group, you will offer technical leadership within the metering services team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Metering Technician to join a dynamic team. In this permanent, full-time role, you will be based in Perth WA, responsible for providing expert metering technical support. As part of the Metering Technical Services functional group, you will offer technical leadership within the metering services team.
You will oversee complex metering activities, including site assessments, audits, and inspections of metering installations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out complex metering activities, including site assessments, audits, and inspections of metering installations, ensuring compliance with metering engineering design, network design, Technical Rules, Metering Code, and Australian Standards.
- Install and inspect LV & HV CT Metering Installations for large customers, ensuring the protection of revenue and the organisation’s reputation.
- Complete commissioning checks on all new connections for HV CT metering (and LV CT metering where required) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Plan and arrange the implementation of HV CT metering works and assist with LV CT work as required, including communications technology in the network.
- Assist in the continuous improvement process for metering service field training packages related to CT LV & HV installations, communication technologies, and associated works.
- Assist in the development and implementation of meter settings and configurations for CT and whole current meters using metering software.

Key Criteria:
- Electrical Worker’s Licence, endorsed as Electrician.
- Extensive post-trade experience in the development, design, implementation, integration, and maintenance of a wide range of metering systems and supporting infrastructure.
- Proven experience with advanced metering infrastructure and using Omicron Test Equipment.
- Sound understanding of secondary equipment commissioning practices.
- Experience with major vendor metering software such as EZIView and EMPWIN is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of, and adherence to, safety regulations and practices.
- Willingness to learn – we are looking for someone who is open to upskilling and taking on new challenges. Training opportunities are available to further develop your skills.
