Responsibilities
- Assess and process more complex planning/subdivision applications and related requests in accordance with Council’s Instrument of Delegation.
- Prepare clear and concise correspondence/reports for either a delegate, a meeting of Council, or other parties as required.
- Work in collaboration with/assist in the development of policies, processes and procedures within the planning team and other Council teams as required.
- Provide excellent customer service and technical advice to all stakeholders.
- Provide education, training and mentoring of staff.
- Prepare submissions and represent Council at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT)
- Assist the Coordinator Statutory Planning with specific tasks and projects as required.
- A planner with at least a minimum 4+ years’ experience in statutory planning (preferably within local government in Victoria).
- Tertiary qualified in town planning.
- Experience in assessing more complex large scale applications having regard to relevant Acts, regulations, Planning Scheme provisions and related policies..
- Excellent management skills to plan, prioritise and organise work to meet performance objectives and targets.
- Holds a driver’s license valid in Victoria.
- 3 month temporary contract with opportunity for extension/ permanency
- Hybrid arrangement, 2 days from home
- Band 6 $45.93 per hour + super
- South East location with free onsite parking
- Full time role, 38 hours per week
