Louis has valuable recruiting experience across plumbing trades in Melbourne’s thriving commercial construction sector and is dedicated to helping his candidates.

Tell us a bit about your career to date and how you got into Recruitment. After saving up and travelling the world at a young age, I decided to put my passion for travel and sales into a career in travel. It was an exciting time to work in the travel industry and I made a lot of good friends along the way, but after arriving in Melbourne I decided it was time for a fresh start.
Looking around and seeing the sheer number of cranes sites popping up it made my decision easy in diving headfirst into a recruitment career for the construction trade. The appeal of working in a similarly fast-paced environment while having the ability to impact people’s lives was a major driving factor to getting through the tough “6-month hump” in recruitment.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Fetch?
Fetch provides great flexibility in the workplace and place trust in each individual consultant to carry out their duties as well as having a great recognition scheme. I find working in a trusting environment motivates me into succeeding in my market and actively seeking out new leads to grow my recruitment desk. You will often find me working away in one of the cubby rooms or on the front lobby desks that overlook the MCG and Yarra river.
What’s one thing you wish people knew about recruitment / your industry?
Although we do charge a fee for our services we actually really care bout our candidates and it’s equally important for us to make sure they are happy in their new roles! I find that having a happy candidate leads to successful relationships in the market as well as having a reputation for listening to their needs!
Number 1 career highlight to date?
Being awarded Fetch Recruitment – “Best New Talent” in 2018 after starting a new desk from scratch.
