We are recruiting on behalf of a major civil construction company known for delivering high-quality projects across the country.
Position Overview:
This leading civil company are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join the team in their yard in Melbourne’s South East. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the preventative and routine maintenance of their fleet of earth moving equipment, asphalt machines and fleet of vehicles. This will be a workshop-based role, minimum 8 hours a day Mon-Fri but has the real potential for earning overtime and can easily accommodate 55 hours+ each week.

This is a full time role where passing a full medical, along with drug and alcohol screening will be required. There will also be ongoing, random drug and alcohol testing performed each month.

DUTIES + EXPERIENCE:
- Preventative and routine maintenance work across their fleet of machines including track and wheeled asphalt pavers, screeds, bitumen sprayers/spray sealers, suction sweepers and more
- Diagnosis and fault finding on equipment
- Maintain maintenance, repair and servicing records and perform risk assessment
- Current and valid forklift and HR license required, HC is advantageous
- 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday is expected but the role can accommodate 10 hours Monday to Friday and 8 hours Saturday.
- Night shift standby will be rotated through the team a few times a year to assist with urgent night works on various projects. Standby allowance will be on offer during those times
- Australian recognised Trade Qualification – Cert 3 Heavy Vehicle
- Own hand tools required. Larger tools and equipment will be supplied by the employer
