The Role:
As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for leading the estimating process on a range of high-end and commercial grade projects, from inception to tender. You will work closely with project managers, senior leadership, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive cost estimates that align with their client's vision and the company’s growth objectives. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for leading the estimating process on a range of high-end and commercial grade projects, from inception to tender. You will work closely with project managers, senior leadership, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive cost estimates that align with their client's vision and the company’s growth objectives. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the business as they expand their footprint in the high-end and commercial construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the estimation process for large-scale commercial-grade projects, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and value engineering options for tenders and project proposals.
- Review and assess architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to provide accurate take-offs and pricing.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Project Managers, Operations, and Senior Leadership) to assess project feasibility and provide budget guidance.
- Source, evaluate, and liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best pricing and value for materials and services.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or design intent.
- Provide support during the negotiation process and ensure timely submission of tenders.
- Assist in project planning and scheduling by providing input on project costs and timelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and industry standards.
About You:
- A seasoned professional with extensive experience as an Estimator in the commercial construction sector, ideally with a background in Tier 3 or similar-sized builders.
- Proven experience in estimating high-end, luxury, or complex commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and project lifecycle.
- High-level proficiency in estimation software and MS Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills and a keen eye for cost efficiencies.
- Strong communication skills, able to liaise effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a growing team.
- A desire to contribute to the growth of a company and take on increasing responsibility as the business expands.
