Job description
THE COMPANY & ROLE
  • Longstanding Melbourne builder with a strong track record on projects to $50m – with selected larger scale projects
  • They only run five or six projects concurrently – you won’t be lost in the crowd like in many other Tier 1 or 2 groups.
  • $30m project in Melbourne’s bayside – commercial project with new build and refurb elements – integrate old with new, interesting project with multiple work interfaces.
  • A role working directly with a Senior PM and wider site team comprising CA, SM, Foreman and OHS/Labourer
THE DUTIES
  • Assist in developing detailed project and trade specific plans including timelines, budgets and resource allocation
  • Coordinate and supervise all site visits and inspections to be undertaken by consultants, engineers, superintendents and testing agencies
  • Actively address and resolve design issues that arise during the construction process to maintain project program and quality standards
  • Liaise with consultants, architects and statutory authorities regarding design and permitting issues
  • Take the lead in the management of oversight of nominated specialist subcontractors
  • Assist in project reporting, in tandem with the PM, to the executive team and key project stakeholders. 
 
ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or related discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working within the commercial construction industry within Australia, ideally in a site based capacity,
  • Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with subcontractors, project consultants and client representatives.
  • Demonstrated experience with construction industry specific software such as Procore, Aconex and cost management systems
  • Self motivated, an ability to work independently when required and first rate communication skills – you will have daily interaction with subcontractors and repeat clients
