Job description
My client is a diversified family-owned business based in the South East. Supporting the Financial Controller, Accounts Payable & Receivable Officer, and Payroll Officer - this role is responsible for day-to-day Bookkeeping activities.
This role will best suit someone currently working as an Assistant Accountant, Bookkeeper or Accountant (CPA qualification not necessary) seeking a new role of max 30 hours per week. This can be worked either as a 4-day work week, or 5 shorter days. This role will be fully office-based in Keysborough in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs (onsite parking available).

The Role
Key responsibilities may include (but not limited to) the following:
- Prepare Weekly Cash Flow
- Prepare Bank Reconciliations monthly (x3)
- Prepare and process standing journals, general journals & project cost journals
- Reconcile and transfer Payroll to the General Ledger
- Calculate Work-In-Progress for all projects, prepare WIP journal and WIP movement reconciliation
- Prepare Monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets for Group Financial Controller review
- Collate and issue Monthly Management Report for Senior Management
- Monthly General Ledger reconciliations - Prepayments, Payroll, Fixed Asset
- Quarterly General Ledger reconciliations - DR & CR control & retentions, miscellaneous Balance Sheet
- Compile Monthly and Quarterly BAS
- Assist in compilation of Annual Budgets
- Assist Group Financial Controller with annual Insurance renewal preparation
- Prepare FBT workpapers
- Prepare End of Financial Year company workpapers & reconciliations (x 11)
- Assist Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll functions when team members are on Annual Leave
The ideal candidate will join possessing the following skills and prior experience:
- Minimum of 3 years' in a similar role, working as an Assistant Accountant, Accountant or Bookkeeper
- Familiarity with MYOB is a must
- Familiarity with Cheops desirable but not essential
- Proactive, intelligent and able to work as part of a small team
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
