Our Perth based client is seeking Senior / Principal Drainage Engineer to join their leading engineering professional services consulting firms working on projects across Australia.

Your Day-to-Day:
Planning and Design: As a principal drainage engineer at an engineering consultancy firm working on major infrastructure projects, your day would begin by reviewing project plans and specifications, conducting site visits, and collaborating with the project team to develop drainage strategies. This involves analyzing hydrological data, conducting hydraulic modeling, and designing effective drainage systems.
Project Management: You would be responsible for overseeing the execution of drainage engineering tasks, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. This includes coordinating with other disciplines, managing resources, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers. You would also monitor project progress, identifying and resolving any drainage-related issues that may arise during construction.
Client Engagement: Your role would involve engaging with clients, participating in meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements, provide updates, and address any concerns. You would collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide innovative drainage solutions that meet project objectives.
Quality Assurance: You would conduct thorough reviews of drainage engineering designs and calculations prepared by the team, ensuring accuracy, adherence to industry standards, and compliance with local regulations. This involves performing technical audits, evaluating the effectiveness of drainage systems, and recommending improvements or modifications as necessary.
Professional Development: As a principal drainage engineer, you would allocate time for continuous learning, staying updated with the latest industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements. This may involve attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge. You may also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and fostering their professional development within the firm.

About You:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in drainage engineering for civil engineering projects.
- Proficiency in 12d and drains
- In-depth knowledge of hydrological analysis, stormwater management, and drainage system design.
- Strong understanding of local regulations and industry standards related to drainage engineering.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Chartered Engineering Status Highly Advantageous.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex drainage projects on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing teams and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Continuous learning mindset, staying updated with industry advancements and best practices.
