My client is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join as a Finishes and Defects Foreman on a 6-month contract basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.
Position Overview: As the Finishes and Defects Foreman, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely completion of the fitout and finishes trades across multiple levels within an apartment tower. Reporting directly to the Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to finishes and defects, pushing forward a tight schedule to ensure works are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all fitout and finishes trades, including but not limited to carpentry, painting, tiling, and plastering, across several levels within the apartment tower.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure all finishes meet or exceed project specifications and industry standards.
- Proactively identify, report, and address any defects or issues, working closely with the Senior Site Manager to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times, adhering to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Senior Site Manager, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting open communication and teamwork among tradespeople and colleagues.
- Proven experience in finishes and defects management in commercial apartment projects is a MUST! (note only candidates who have worked on apartment towers will be considered)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of tradespeople.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Sound knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
- Relevant qualifications in building, construction management, or a related field are desirable.
